The food is phenomenal. We stopped here on our cross-country trip. I'm just loving it, I would love to come again. more than the food, is the best part of this experience. Friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about food. When you visit, you want to ask for Anthony. All his wine recommendations were spot on. He takes better care of us than mom
The food is amazing. But you knew that. The service is beyond compare. That, more than the food, is the best part of this experience. Friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about food. When you visit, you want to ask for Anthony. All his wine recommendations were spot on. He takes better care of us than mom (love you mom!).
I cannot express how impressed I was. When we first arrived, we were a little confused on where it was. But, it all worked out as soon as we saw their sign. Dave Chang and his team really outdid themselves with their strategic location and design of the restaurant. The food was incredible and I cannot recommend the mushroom bibimbap enough. Reminds me of when my mother used to cook a similar dish. The only reason for the 4 is because of the drinks. I didn’t quiet feel like the drinks were the best.Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the shared dishes because there was only two of us. But, I will definitely come back again the next time I’m in LA!
Met and exceeded my expectations! I made a reservation 3-4 weeks out, and made sure to reserve the short rib in advance. I am a big fan of David Chang, and was so happy to eat at his LA restaurant. We followed the waiters recommendations and ordered items from every section of the menu. The cocktails were also very fun.The ambiance was awesome, music wasn't was quiet enough that we could talk to each other, but loud enough that we couldn't hear the clanging of forks and spoons as we savored every bite.I would recommend anyone to visit Majordomo when they come to LA!
This has become my favorite spot in LA. The food did not disappoint. I cannot even describe how good it all was. We ordered the bing bread with eggplant and pine nuts (lightly smoky and savory), oysters (bright and fresh), crispy potatoes (spicy, crunchy and creamy), mushroom crispy rice (umami and nice buttery crunch), boiled chicken (tender, savory, and healing), and a Peach drink.Plus our server, Hana, was fabulous!
We had the best time at the Chef's counter. It was fun getting to see all of the food being prepared and sent out, and the service was excellent. We loved everything that we ate and drank. It all came out piping hot and fresh from the kitchen, and the seasoning for everything was on point. We started with the smoke eggplant bing due to other reviews, and it was a great recommendation. We were glad there wasn't more of it for the two of us, given how much other food we had ordered, but would order multiple bings if we were a larger party. The sausage stuffed peppers were fairly light, but the sausage added another layer of savory flavor from a standard shishito pepper. The macaroni and chickpea pasta had a lot of freshly ground black pepper on top, which added a great flavor and spice, and the sauce had a nice creamy texture (no actual cream). The noodles were al dente. The seasoning on the crispy potatoes was so good - almost like Nashville hot chicken, but not very spicy. The pork was way too much for two people. We knew that going in, but it's hard to overstate how much 2lbs of pork really is. We barely made a dent.My husband really enjoyed the painkiller cocktail (served in the cat cup) and the mai tai. Both were fruity and tropical. They would have been too sweet for me. I enjoyed the wine options, and the server was super helpful and knowledgeable about the wines. We're excited for our leftovers and are planning to come back soon with a bigger group so we can try more things!
Our only regret was not having enough people with us to try the bo ssam!! David Chang’s LA outpost exceeded our expectations and we loved every dish we tried. Not only were the portions generous (we definitely over-ordered), but every dish was filled with flavor. We loved how every dish was a little bit of a surprise (ie not what we expected) in the best way possible. The bing (bread) and fixings in particular was very unique, and unlike any bread course we’ve tried before! Major props to Majordomo for making our first meal in LA so memorable.
